HOW DOES IT WORK?
The SkinTyte™ procedure utilises a broad band of light energy to deeply heat dermal collagen. This process promotes contraction of collagen. The heat also initiates the body’s natural healing process, which creates a renewed collagen foundation that leads to increased skin firmness. Powerful cooling maintains the outer surface of your skin at a cool temperature before, during and after each pulse, providing the patient with a comfortable and safe procedure.
WHEN DO WE RECOMMEND IT?
SkinTyte™ treatments are safe for all skin types and can be performed on any area of the body where an improvement in skin firmness is desired. Popular areas include the face, neck, abdomen and arms. Your physician or aesthetic specialist will discuss the treatment options that are best for you.
WHEN DO WE ADVISE AGAINST IT?
It shouldn’t be done on pregnant women. People with autoimmune diseases and those with connective tissue disorders should not consider SkinTyte. Patients taking Accutane should stop at least four months before the SkinTyte process. Furthermore, people with active acne, herpes or rosacea should wait until the blisters have cleared before scheduling this treatment.
WHAT IS THE TYPICAL COURSE OF TREATMENT?
The SkinTyte™ light energy is delivered in a sequence of rapid, gentle pulses. There is no need for a topical anaesthetic. However, your physician may choose to use one on areas that are more sensitive. A series of pulses will be repeated over the treatment area to ensure best results. While the face and neck can typically be treated within 30 minutes, actual time will depend on the area that is treated.
WHAT CAN YOU / CAN’T YOU EXPECT FROM THE TREATMENT?
You may experience mild redness in the treated area immediately after, and this should return to your normal within minutes. Since the SkinTyte™ procedure is non-invasive, there is no downtime and you can, therefore, resume regular activities immediately after treatment. You can also apply makeup and sunscreen after each session.
